SC Sentinel – As you see it – 9-04-2012<\/p>\n

To read of the Aptos Safeway meeting on Aug. 22 where residents voiced opposition to the Safeway developers’ massive plans, I conjured up the image of an idling D9 Dozer impatiently waiting for the token community nonsense to end so it may drop the blade and lay track.<\/p>\n

After the meeting concluded, I could see the Safeway reps smiling, shaking their heads and saying, \u201cWe gotta seem like we care, don’t we?\u201d This \u201ccaring\u201d was so eloquently spoken by Safeway architect Robert Lyman: \u201cI’m trying to capture what Aptos is all about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Utter compatibility, no?<\/p>\n

Sort of how the out-of-town developers in 1974 wanted to capture what Lighthouse Field was all about with their massive conference center proposal.<\/p>\n
