No clarity the City and County are moving folks into \nProject Roomkey Motel Rooms from The Armory, Vets Hall, and Laurel St. \nas well as the indoor areas of the \u201cHousing Mutters\u201d\n Coral St. complex. <\/li><li><strong>Expanded Police Powers:&nbsp;\n<\/strong>City Councils\u2019 \nexpansion of &#8220;emergency&#8221; powers seized by Bernal, Mills,\n and City Department Heads need to be monitored and resisted.&nbsp; I \nanticipate the return of the Mills\/Condotti Police Powers 8-point \nRepression program as well as the &#8220;improved&#8221; Camping Ordinance \nslithering its way through the CACH committee.&nbsp; Now is obviously\n the moment to focus on local Santa Cruz police abuse. <\/li><li><strong>Report on Local Motel Room Stats for the Vulnerable:&nbsp;\n<\/strong>Still no new word \nfrom Mayor &#8220;NoJustice&#8221; Justin Cummings (other than &#8220;tell\n it to the County workers&#8221;),&nbsp; county worker Jessica Scheider, and other \nlocal Project Roomkey fund fondlers in response to requests for stats on\n the numbers outside vulnerable not offered rooms, amount of $ left,&nbsp;\n&amp; the toxic congregate shelter indoor danger.<\/li><li><strong>Have You Been Hassled Under the New Indefinite Powers for Cops and the Deputized\n City Employees<\/strong>?&nbsp; Passed last month these included citation powers to\n dozens of city employees and vague \u201cenforce health edicts\u201d power to the cops. \n&nbsp;Contact <strong><em>HUFF<\/em><\/strong> to let us know at <strong><em>423-4833<\/em><\/strong><em>. <\/em>\n<\/li><li><strong>Resume Direct Action Protests?:\n<\/strong>Thousands came out over the weekend to demand police accountability.&nbsp;&nbsp;\nHUFFsters might consider a socially-distanced picket line or Honk\n In outside the residences of City and County officials or Vacant Motels\n to demand safe shelter-in-place space.<\/li><li><strong>Reports of Vehicle Tows Are on the Rise:&nbsp;\n<\/strong>With rumored countersuits by the\n<strong><em>ACLU <\/em><\/strong>&amp;&nbsp; <strong><em>Santa Cruz Homeless Union<\/em><\/strong> still not happening here (though some action reported in Sacramento). Funding exists,\n promises made, promises broken.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>The\n inadequate &#8220;normal&#8221; charitable activities of those working with \nchurches,\n social services, etc. have been cut back or closed&#8211;many of the staff \nof these organizations are over 60 and particularly vulnerable to the \ncorona virus.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Normal\n donations to those directly seeking survival money through \n&#8220;panhandling&#8221;\n have been discouraged or criminalized under the new emergency regs, \nenacted without public discussion or vote.&nbsp;
