Know Your Rights & Surviving Police Encounters Workshop (9/30)
Involved in radical projects such as we are, we are all subject to police repression. Knowing your "rights" is just one tool in our arsenal. You may be surprised that what you thought you knew, you don't. And better to learn now than from behind the reinforced glass or bars of a jail cell.
A Free Skool Santa Cruz Workshop
Know your “rights” before you find yourself in hot water. Keep yourself safe from police repression. Take the Know Your Rights Quiz and see how much you know. Detentions, arrest, searches, interrogation, jail, warrants, and police infiltration.
Saturday September 30th
1:00 to 4:00pm
Louden Nelson Community Park
downtown off Laurel
“I’m going to remain silent and I want to speak with a lawyer.”

always remembr , as someone pointed out on a radio interview , police DO tell LIES, and a lot of people, especially whites don't truly believe this...
leading this workshop and what are their qualifications? I'd like to attend, but want to make sure it the workshop is lead by someone qualified...
Too bad this workshop conflicts with the S.F. Mime Troupe Performance of Godfellahs over in San Lorenzo Park. Of course, that performance repeats on Sunday.
Any more details about what we can expect and who will be running the workshop?

Sargent Butchy Baker will be leading the workshop.
Your rights will be to remain [politically] silent [in an anti-authoritarian sense] at all times, before, after, and during the police encounter.
He will stress that your survival may depend on this.
Mike Rotkin will be there to tell you that there is nothing for you to complain about and that you are crazy if you do not follow a direct police order.
And the ACLU will be there to help anyone interested in proposing new guidelines for your survival to be submitted to Mike Rotkin and rejected.
Just kidding, I'm curious about who will be leading the workshop as well.
