HOMELESS DIE IN THE COLD

Join us during Martin Luther King Week at 5 pm on Thursday, January 16 to speak out at Apple World Headquarters. Apple causes growing poverty when it fails to pay fair taxes and starves government programs. It causes homelessness when its irresponsible developments like the new Cupertino campus aggravate Silicon Valley’s affordable housing shortage.
We will hold a candlelight vigil together in solidarity with security workers calling for responsible contracting, and with the homeless West Coast Day of Action demanding a Homeless Bill of Rights.
Homelessness and poverty are not unavoidable natural disasters or caused by the will of God or other factors beyond our control. They are caused by a broken economic system and subservient politicians who have sold their souls to corporations and forgotten their people. Every time a corporate CEO goes to Washington to lobby for tax breaks, we get cuts in affordable housing and social programs.
