Nonviolent Protest against the eviction of Heroes’ Camp Friday, May 3, 2019, on the levee behind Ross at 9 AM.
The city plans to force the community living behind Ross out into the doorways, yards and parks of Santa Cruz starting on May 3rd. Join us in calling on City Council to stop the evictions until the city has provided a realistic alternative that will include the formation of self managed transitional camps supported by local non-profits and city services.
Most of those who have lived at Ross Camp will need to find safety on the streets, doorways and parks. Some people might get to stay at the Santa Cruz Motel for five days. Sixty people may get to stay at 1220 River Street camp for 60 days. After that the 200 or more people at Ross Camp will be sleeping on the streets of Santa Cruz.
